Wild Valerian.. not to be confused with red Valerian, which is actually Centranthus ruber (you can see why common names can be so troublesome can’t you). Anyway, Valeriana officinalis is a beauty of a native, blending in well with any garden planting and holds its own against any blow -in’s.. A hardy perennial, she’ll form a mound of nice foliage and send up lofty stems in summer, capped with pink-flushed flower clusters beloved by all!
She’ll seed with you if happy. She’s not too fussy with soil types, coping with some of the heavier stuff. Full sun/part shade. Up to 5ft’ish
