Upright and bushy salvia with deeply corrugated (clues in the name) leaves, thick and dark green. The plant grows up to around a meter if happy and produces deep blue, salvia flower clusters from late summer through autumn. These flowers are chunkier than a lot of salvias and the whole plant has a much more utilitarian and robust feel to it than the highly decorative (and sometimes horrendous) cultivars. I like it anyway!
Evergreen, perennial, prefers full sun or part shade and well drained soils. Hardy to -5, but worth taking cuttings or bringing in if you’re worried in any way.
