Salix purpurea "Nancy Saunders" 1ltr

€6.00

A more delicate, diminuitive and refined Salix than her brothers and sisters. Far from being a runt though, she is arguably destined for greater things in the long run. Delicate red stems adorned with multiple catkins (more kittens) in early spring followed by lovely airy grey/blue/green leaves with an early pink/red flush.

Ultimate height 12ft , as wide. Maintain in the usual way to keep stems looking fresh and vibrant through winter (cut back to main stock in the spring) if that’s your bag, if you just want to sophisticated naturalistic form and catkins, leave her to it. OR do a combination of both and just cut back every other year! Cutting back will also help control size.

Hardy, prefers sun/part shade and soils on the damper side, so perfect for the more troublesome areas of the garden.
