Isatis tinctoria 9cm

The wonderful woad plant of lore, producing brilliant blue dye. Also one of the best spring flowering plants in my opinion sending out beautiful spangles of golden yellow flower clouds which mature in textural coolness of tiny black teardrop dangles.

Hardy biennial/short lived perennial, will self seed if happy. Copes with well drained or loamy soils, up to about waist height, but flowers airy, so stuff can grow up through them.
