An unusual one! A native tree of Northern Australia, apparently ‘frost resistant’ once mature. Also called ‘Northern Kurrajong’. Grows into a decent sized tree, but reading online is well suited to Bonsai, so if you’re looking for a project, this could be a nice one.
Attractive tree eventuarlly forming nicely lobed leaves, red flowers and edible boat-shaped fruits. Prefers open soils and dapply shade.
Probably fine for summer pot displays, keep in above freezing over-winter when young. If planting out, choose a well sheltered sunny aspect and wait until plant is in at least a five litre pot.
