Coleus (Plectranthus) venteri 9cm

€5.00

This guy is one of those lads who goes by either Plectranthus, or, Coleus, depending on how competitive/pedantic/confused the horticulturist is who you’re talking to. Anyway, This plant is gnarly, weird, stinky, sticky and a plant only its mother could love. As a result I love them!

In its native South Africa this Plectranthus grows up to 3ft and becomes shrubby, which is brilliant! Here however, I’d treat as a really cool pot plant for summer displays or plunging out into arid themed beds as a textural addition to all the succulent stuff. Overwinter above freezing and keep on dry side. Flowers in summer, though they’re not much to write home about (I’m not really selling this guy am I..) open, well drained substrates. Drought tolerant!
