Althaea cannabina 1ltr

€7.00

A perennial mallow which produces multiple, robust but delicate wiry, semi-woody stems which flower in small but perfect soft pink all through summer in refined open spangles. She can reach up to 4-6ft and the flowers will provide a wonderful nuanced splash of colour through the back of borders mingling through other plants. A “light” plant that won’t sit as a blob and enhances rather than dominates.

She’s hardy, prefers full sun, fairly drought tolerant. Stems will die back over winter, but cut them down to the ground and the plant will break again from the base in spring and grow like billio once temperatures start rising.

Not too fussy soil wise just as long as not sopping wet. Like most Malavaceae family, although stems can withstand a lot, they can be a bit brittle, so probably best to plant this out of direct winds or if on a very windy site plant with stronger companions to help support her.
